For this refined interior, our client desired that the art works seamlessly complement the low key coloration of the space.
The colors within the space are generally in the cool tonal range, utilizing grays, blues, and creams. The fabrics are mohair and silk, and natural skins provide textural interest. Carrara marble, mother of pearl, and blond wood punctuate the space. MKG worked with DLD to select art reflecting their interest in nature and natural forms. In this seating area butterflies in cream, beige and gray line the wall on the right. The large painting on canvas over the mother-of-pearl credenza complements the color and furniture plan in the space.
The furniture layout of this seating area required large scale art which would hang adjacent to each other without completing with one another. By selecting large scale work with a quiet palette and textural application of paint, we were able to highlight the cool interior without diminishing the soothing aesthetic.
